FAQ - The Confident Cook Series

  • The Confident Cook Series is perfect for beginners and home cooks who want to feel more confident in the kitchen. It’s especially popular with high school and college students, newlyweds, growing families, and anyone who wants to cook healthier meals at home.

    Each class builds on the last, helping you develop essential techniques, understand flavor, and become more comfortable cooking from scratch.

    Chef Leslie teaches not just how to cook, but why it works, so you gain real understanding and lasting kitchen confidence.

  • No experience is required. The series is designed so anyone can follow along comfortably while still learning valuable new techniques.

  • Classes are hands-on and interactive. You’ll cook alongside the instructor while learning essential techniques, practical kitchen skills, and how flavors work together.

    The Confident Cook Series is a progressive program. Each level runs for 3 weeks (one class per week), and students enroll one level at a time.

    Classes take place in Chef Leslie’s Ft. Lauderdale kitchen or at a participant’s home.

    You’re welcome to gather your own friends, colleagues, or family and experience the series together—or come on your own and meet new, like-minded people who love great food and want to become more confident cooks.

    Dietary restrictions are collected during registration through a dietary form, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

  • You’ll learn foundational cooking techniques, ingredient knowledge, flavor pairing, and practical kitchen skills that make everyday cooking easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

    The Confident Cook Series includes 6 progressive levels, each building on the skills learned in the previous course. Most students begin with Course 1 and advance through the series as their confidence grows.

    To ensure you start in the right place, a brief phone call is required before enrollment so Chef Leslie can recommend the best level for you.

  • A 3-week group instructional package is $799.

    This includes three weeks of instruction (one class per week), and you’ll eat and enjoy everything we make together.

    The series is designed as a progression of learning, with each class building on the techniques and skills from the previous lessons.

    Maximum group size: 8 participants.
